I’m not going to lie, moving sucks. I don’t know how people do this every couple of years, it’s so much work and so stressful. Thankfully we found a home that we can grow into and enjoy for the next 10 plus years—we just have to actually move now haha.

I was researching moving supply companies and stumbled on Fortboxx, an Alberta-based moving supply company. I’m obsessed with their whole business and how they’re trying to make moving suck a lot less. 5 reasons why I think you should use Fortboxx for your move

  1. They’re a Canadian company (based out of Red Deer, AB) and woman-owned! I’ve always tried to support local as much as I can, so I love that even my moving supplies can be local!
  2. They ship everything you need right to your house. Your moving checklist is a million miles long, take one thing off of your to do list.
  3. They have everything you need—and didn’t know you need for packing. My package came with boxes, sharpies, tape, tape gun, newspaper etc. One of the most valuable resources they included is their Move Ready Package. This package includes a moving house checklist with a four-week pack plan, a box-to-room guide with custom door hangers, moving games for kids and adults, colouring sheets, a place to draw and create a blueprint for a crazy box fort, new owner note, a personal to-do list, new home grocery list, and a honey to-do list. I LOVE lists, they keep me sane when I’m overwhelmed, so this was an amazing touch!
  4. They make moving fun for kids too. They include items to make forts out of your boxes—which I promised the kids we’ll do in the new house. There’s a sheet to colour a blueprint, crayons to decorate the boxes and flags for on top. My kids are so excited to make an epic fort box.
  5. Their website and Instagram have lots of tips and tricks to make moving less tedious. From drinking games for the adults & contests for kids to how to pack certain items, they have lots info to make your move fun.
