This may be an unpopular opinion, but I believe that you can have beautiful furniture and young kids.

If there’s a store that understands the needs of families, it’s a family-owned store like Sofa Land. I’ve got some amazing insights to share with you about how the experts at Sofa Land can make the process of choosing living room furniture – and maintaining it with kids – a breeze. If you’re aiming to balance style, practicality, and the chaos that comes with little ones, then keep on reading.

The Expert Touch at Sofa Land

One of the most incredible things about shopping at Sofa Land is the guidance you’ll receive from their experts. They understand that your couch is more than just furniture – it’s a central piece of your home where memories are made. When you step into their store, you’ll find knowledgeable professionals ready to help you navigate through the sea of options. And in case you’re wondering, yes, they carry more than just sofa’s. There’s tons of décor, area rugs, art and accents!

  • Configuration and Style: The layout of your living space is unique, and so is your style. Sofa Land’s experts can help you choose the right configuration that optimizes your space and suits your family’s needs. Whether you’re looking for a classic sectional, a cozy loveseat, accent chairs or accessories, they’ve got your back. One of the things I love most about Sofa Land is that almost everything in the store can be customized. I got both our couch and accent chairs there and both had so many different options for configuration and fabric. Even better? The prices were so much more affordable than I thought custom furniture would be.
  • Choosing the Perfect Fabric: Here’s where the magic happens. Not only can they guide you through various fabric options, but they can also recommend ones that are ideal for households with kids. They’ll steer you towards materials that are easy to clean, durable, and resistant to the everyday messes that life with children or pets (or husband’s) can bring.

Stain Protection Plan: A Smart Move

If you’re going for a light-coloured fabric, considering a stain protection plan is like giving your couch an extra layer of armor. Kids and spills are practically best friends, so having that added assurance that minor mishaps won’t lead to permanent damage can be a real peace of mind.

What we chose

After a couple visits to the store and back home, taking measurements, and envisioning things in our space we finally chose a couch and accent chairs that suited our space and personal style. Like I mentioned, almost everything at Sofa Land can be customized, and we chose our couch and chairs based off of two sectionals we saw in the South Edmonton Common showroom.

Our couch is the Dapper Sofa in the colour Grande Ice. We were even able to customize the throw pillows and legs, so your options really are endless.

For our accent chairs we went with the Esmae in the colour Toscana Forest, it’s a beautiful dark green velvet-like material that we’re really loving.

Final thoughts

With the experts at Sofa Land by your side, choosing the right couch configuration, style, and fabric is way less daunting than you think. Their guidance and recommendations can help you create a space that’s stylish and functional, even in the midst of family life — and don’t forget to add that stain protection plan, especially for light-coloured fabrics, it’s honestly a huge piece of mind knowing we have support if we need it.

Happy living room shopping and kudos to maintaining a beautiful home amidst the kid chaos!
