On my recent trip to Calgary with my friend Holly and our kids, we were lucky enough to get to experience a luxury boho style picnic in Bowness Park. This was no ordinary picnic. It was luxe, over-the-top and visually stunning.
The set up, decor and takedown were all done by Bubbles & Brews Canada, a Calgary-based company that specializes in the most adorable mobile bar carts and now luxury picnics as well. These set-ups are so perfect for weddings, stagettes, bridal showers, birthdays or in our case a girl’s night. All we had to bring was our food (charcuterie obviously) and some wine.
Cindy, the owner of Bubbles and Brews, was so accommodating and helpful. We last minute decided to do this and she was more than happy to help us out quickly and suggested a couple of great spots to have the picnic, since we’re not local to Calgary.
Normally, if I were on vacation I’d try to get out for at least one nice dinner. Since Holly and I were on our own with four young kids in tow that really wasn’t an option. This set up was the perfect compromise. We got to dress up, eat well and have all the atmosphere (and more) that I look for when eating out. Next time however, we can hopefully ditch the kids so we can enjoy the night without having to constantly referee kids haha.
What do the picnics include?
Picnic’s include all the decor you see here — boho rug, low table, floor pillows, blankets, rattan accessories, table settings, champagne bucket, dried florals, pampas etc.
Food and drinks are not included, however you can purchase a charcuterie board as an add on for $75/board.
What is the cost?
You can get set up’s for anywhere from two people to thirty or more. So obviously size will determine your cost. For one table (the size of our set up) the cost is $500. It would accommodate up to six people and you get the rental for two hours. Each additional hour is $75.
Two tables (10 guests) is $750 and three tables (14 guests) is $1200.
This was such a fun evening. It felt so great to just show up and have everything ready and set up for us, without having to lift a finger. I would 100% recommend this for any intimate event you’re hosting in the future. Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.
