Lift your spirits with this fangtastic, Creepy Lychee Martini. I’m a sucker for a theme, so I couldn’t let Halloween pass without crafting the perfect Halloween martini.
My bestie Holly and I love a lychee martini. Ever since I tried it a couple of years ago I’ve been wanted to come up with the perfect recipe for making one at home, and Holly and I have definitely delivered. The missing ingredient was a splash of fresh grapefruit juice!
This cocktail is as good (if not better) than any you’ll have in a restaurant and is the perfect sip for your next party or girl’s night. You can make a big batch of these ahead of time and then just give them a good shake to chill them before you serve. If you’re having trouble finding lychees, try the ethnic food aisle in your grocery store. That’s where I always find mine.
Creepy Lychee Martini
Yields 1 drink
You’ll Need:
- 0.75 ounces vodka (I used Grey Goose)
- 0.75 ounces lychee liqueur (I used Soho)
- 1 ounce lychee juice (you can buy lychee juice in a bottle, or simply reserve the juice from your canned lychees)
- 0.5 ounces fresh lime juice
- 0.5 ounces fresh grapefruit juice
- Lychees (fresh or canned) – to muddle and garnish
- Blueberries, to garnish
- Red jam, to garnish
- Ice
Directions:
In a cocktail tin, muddle one whole lychee with vodka and lychee liqueur. Add lime, grapefruit, lychee juice and ice to the tin. Shake vigorously and strain into a martini glass.
To make some spooky eyes as a garnish, spoon a bit of jam into two lychees and fill each with a blueberry and serve on a cocktail pick.
Pro tip: Do you enjoy your martinis extra cold? Fill your martini glass with ice to help it chill while you make your cocktail.
