I’ve been obsessed with pampas grass for the last couple of years. It’s the perfect neutral, low maintenance, boho décor for your home. I’m so jealous of people who have it growing wild in their fields, who can just go pick it themselves. Since we can’t do that here in Edmonton, I was able to snag a gorgeous bundle from Pampas Gal, a local shop that sells amazing real and faux options. They have an online shop too, that ships across Canada and the US.
Pampas grass is a super low-maintenance floral décor option for your home, however, there are a few things you can do to get the most out of it.
- When you bring your pampas home, take it outside and give each stem a good shake to get rid of some of the excess plume and to minimize shedding.
- Place you pampas in a vase in a sunny spot for a few days to allow it to naturally fluff up. Another way to get it really fluffy is to blow dry it on a low setting for a couple of minutes.
3. Pampas grass does like to shed. To help minimize it you can lightly spray it with hairspray (after you’ve allowed it to fluff up).
4. To prolong the life of your pampas grass, keep it away from direct light and moisture. Too much sunlight can dry it out.
5. Generally, your pampas grass should last about three years with very little care needed, except for the occasional dusting.
And there you have it, a few simple tips to get the most out of your pampas grass. I have several different arrangements throughout my home–next I think I want to make a wreath out of a stem like this picture I found on Pinterest. Perfect boho touch for your home!
